Deaf Poets – New Music

Alt-rock duo Deaf Poets is Nicolas Espinosa and Sean Wouters. They have earned titles such as “Best Band of Miami” (2014) and were chosen for Miami New Times “20 Most Influential People of Miami” award in 2015. Their song, “Degenerate Mind,” was used in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 game. Deaf Poets have become regulars at iiiPoints music festival, and opened for Best Coast, The Naked And Famous, Matt & Kim, Thievery Corporation and more. The band released the music video “Celestine” in March of 2017, part of their album Lost In Magic City (May 5th, 2017).

About the album, Nico says “Lost in Magic City is our sophomore record released on Cinco de Mayo of this year. We couldn’t be happier with this release! With this record, we solidified our sound and the final product is exactly what we were shooting for. We recorded six songs ourselves in Sean’s room and we were very fortunate to work in some incredible studios for the remaining tracks. Jim Diamond (The White Stripes/The Sonics/The Dirtbombs) was able to mix and master the tracks how we envisioned them. Each song tells a story of different experiences we’ve had in Miami thought out the years. From recording to packaging the record, we were 100% involved in the process. Thanks to Waxromantix and Limited Fanfare for making the vinyl possible!

Not only was this tour successful, it was also a huge learning experience for everyone involved. Almost 10k miles in 3 weeks! It was the first time we headed to the west coast and its a complete different animal than the east coast. We’ve never even visited 99% of the cities booked, so each stop was a vacation for us. We immediately fell in love with the pacific coast. We’ve met incredible people and bands and we are very gracious to have been received so well in these markets. Thanks to Benny and Dom for embarking on this tour with us and our team back home, Nat and Steph, for keeping us in check. To anyone that hosted us on the road, thank you for giving us the opportunity to recharge before hitting the road. We can’t wait to do it again!”
