John Mayer On Tour With Remaining Members Of The Grateful Dead
Dead And Company is a band consisting of former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti. The group kicked off their 2016 summer tour in Charlotte, NC on June 10 and will end near the Grateful Dead’s home in Mountain View, California on July 30th. The tour will have a total of 24 concerts in 20 different U.S. cities. The tour includes concerts at baseball/football stadiums, the Bonnaroo Music Festival, outdoor amphitheaters and an indoor concert in Portland, Oregon at the Moda Center. Concerts will be live streamed via livedead.co along with downloads, CDs and more. In 2015, the remaining members of the Grateful Dead along with Trey Anastasio(Phish) held the Fare Thee Well Tour with dates in Chicago and Santa Clara for the band’s 50th Anniversary.
Rock artist John Mayer joined the band for the 2016 tour as a lead guitarist and vocalist. Almost 15 years prior to joining remaining members of the Grateful Dead, he had released his debut studio album titled Room For Squares(2001). His sixth studio album Paradise Valley was released in 2013, with the song and music video “Shadow Days” released in 2012. As for his current performances, he is gaining more recognition as a very energetic person as well as additional love and respect for his talents.
The documentary The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir is based on Bob Weir’s experience with the Grateful Dead and was released in 2015. The film is available on multiple platforms including Netflix.
